Blue Sand | Wishbone Gallery

Presenting Blue Sand, Wishbone brings together six artists who explore matter in its rawest state—its roughness, its flaws, its slow surrender to wear. Angela Ferrari, Kaori Izumiya, Barbara Ottevaere, Benjamin Perron, Emily Spooner, and Tiffany Wong collectively chart a territory where each work seems to unravel before our eyes.

Through image and gesture, wind scrapes, water seeps in, and dust gathers; slowly, forms begin to fade. Some grainy surfaces still catch the light, while others almost completely disappear—reduced to subtle reliefs, to remnants more sensed than seen. In this slow erosion, even color appears to return to its original state—ochres and clay tones, ashen blues—a telluric palette where the organic and the mineral blur. These muted tones settle in layers, as though the history of materials were being imprinted on their surfaces, time itself made visible in their weathered textures. Nothing is static: everything wears down and falls apart in a balance between blossoming and disappearance.
