Philippe Poullaouec-Gonidec
Philippe Poullaouec-Gonidec, who graduated with a degree in Fine Arts in France (Beaux-arts), lives and works in Montreal. Alongside his prolific academic career, his artistic work has also made notable incursions into the art world in Quebec and Europe. His visual universe is characterized by poetic narrative figuration, in which landscapes and intertwined bodies are woven together in complex compositions of form and meaning. This work represents a continuation of his exploration of the concept of landscape and its expressive and impressionistic figures. In recent years, his pictorial representations have distanced themselves from reality and become a sensitive invocation of imaginary wanderings and evocations of bodies, materials, places, and horizons.
