MK Lavigne
A Native Montrealer, MK Lavigne is a visual artist based in Quebec, holding a Bachelor's degree in Visual Arts from the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières and a Master's degree in Visual Arts from Université Laval.
Her plastic language, which sometimes evokes graphic design and landscape, is marked by a leitmotif: the study and encounter of colours. Notably, the artist uses UV-reactive paint, whose singular subtlety is revealed according to the light, thus contributing to the uniqueness and distinctive mark of her work.
Lavigne's works also stand out for the skillful use of various techniques, mainly that of "hard edge." Thus, she strives to establish a harmonious cohesion, challenging the viewer with a narrative rich in contrasts and oppositions, through serial lines, gradients, overlays, and drips.
