Benjamin Perron
Benjamin Perron is a French-speaking visual artist from Quebec who primarily works with lensless and camera-free photographic processes. He holds a bachelor's and a master's degree in sociology from Université Laval, a BFA in Studio Art from Concordia University, and an MFA from the School of Art at the University of Manitoba. Starting from sociological inquiries about society, he uses art as a way to propose answers. His work embraces reduction, encourages slowing down, and aims to offer an aesthetic experience inspired by the notion of the sublime in painting. His artworks have been exhibited in Montreal and Winnipeg and are part of private collections. He is the recipient of numerous awards and grants, including the Gabor Szilasi Prize in Studio Arts and the 2022 Alfred Pinsky Medal from Concordia University's Faculty of Fine Arts.
